The complex of [Mn12O12(O2CCH2Cl)16(H2O)4] was reducedby PPh4I to give a reduced complex [PPh4][Mn12O12-(O2CCH2Cl)16(H2O)3]. Crystal structures of both complexeswere determined by the X-ray method. The dc magnetic susceptibilitymeasurements indicate that the neutral and reducedcomplexes are high spin species.
